You Lookin’ At The Wolf?

Nationals.com reports that the Nationals are looking into acquiring the services of starter Randy Wolf. Wolf went 12-12 with a 4.30 ERA in 33 starts, splitting it between the Padres and Astros in 2008. The Nationals are not the only team in the mix, rumor has it Team Choke East has interest as well.
My God, those Padre alternative jerseys are absolutely the worst! Just look at them: all I can see is two arms and Randy Wolf’s face floating on green background. Insane!
So the Nats look like they are going back on what they said earlier in the off season about picking up FA starting pitching. I guess they feel like they have to do something or risk going into 09′ as is because the FA Market is quickly going dry and the Nats are not the most attractive option for FAs right now. We can’t say Wolf is the best option in the world, but we are getting to the point where as long as the contract length is reasonable (meaning short), why the hell not? He might teach the youngsters a thing or two.
Besides, having the name “Wolf” on a jersey would just be plain kick ass and remind us all of Harvey Keitel’s character in Pulp Fiction.
“I’m Winston Wolfe. I solve problems.”
Yeah, let’s hope so.
