Have you ever heard the one about that old guy who like asked Santa Claus to give him the power to touch things and turn them to gold? Then he ended up touching his nuts, they turned to gold and he could never have children therefore ending any chance humans shall evolve into Fort Knox mutants?

No, I haven’t heard that one either, but that is only because I just made it up. THIS I did not make up.

Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman made history on Wednesday, becoming the first Nationals player to win a National League Gold Glove Award.Zimmerman led NL third basemen in assists, total chances, total outs recorded and games started. Almost every game, it seemed like Zimmerman put on a show at the hot corner — whether it was making a diving play or charging a ball to throw out a runner.

Congratulations to Mr. Zimmerman. It’s nice to know that Nats fans have at least one ray of sunshine to look at and worship after such a horrid season. Frankly, I can’t imagine what this team would be like if they didn’t have him.

Oh, wait, yes I can.

Well deserved, Zimmerman. Let the NQ be the first to beg you not to go work for the Yankees or Red Sox. Please. Never.
