The Wolf Is At The Door Again

Remember that post where we said Scott Olsen was non-tendered by the Nats and he is now a free agent? Well, forget it. He’s back.
ESPN.com reports the Nationals have signed pitcher Scott “The Wolf” Olsen to an incentive-heavy one-year $1 million contract.
According to the source, the contract includes incentives that could increase Olsen’s salary to almost $4 million if he makes 33 starts for the Nationals.
The Wolf is coming off shoulder surgery rehabilitation and is expected to compete for a starting job during Spring Training. Not a bad deal for the Nats. It could actually turn into a tremendous deal for the Nats if Olsen is fully recovered, pitches well and gets in his 33 starts. Screw it. I’m making a bold prediction right now:
Scott Olsen will be the Nationals Comeback Player of 2010. Seriously, I just have a feeling. I don’t think he’ll have a career season, but I really think he has the possibility in contributing something to this team’s rotation and be a surprise.
If I’m wrong then my staff is wrong and I will fire them all– but keep my job and benefits. If the big banks can do it, so can I.
Welcome back, Wolf. Give’em hell. Let them feel the animal.
