I still can’t get over how popular the Presidents Race is. Who would of thought dressing up people in the big heads of a bunch of politicians and have them race out onto the field would attract so much attention and love? For the past few years we have witnessed everything from panther attacks, deer in the headlights, zip lines, and cavemen.

When you put it like that, it sounds more entertaining than most of the games this season.

Over on the Home Run Derby blog, they are having a Mascot Tournament where you vote who kicks whose ass. Right now, the DC Presidents are up against the San Diego Padre Friar in the second round. The DC Presidents squashed whoever the Brewer’s mascot is (a can of beer?) in the first round. As of this time, the Presidents were winning with 67% of the vote to 33%. Voting ends on August 8th.

I don’t know why we post this because it’s not like the Presidents win anything if they take the whole cheese, but the NQ and it’s staff are all suckers for things like blog voting contests, free t-shirts, and those little toys at the bottom of cereal boxes.

We don’t eat the cereal, by the way.
