Just quickly before we start the Winter Meeting festivities (which officially begin today)…
Sources are telling the Nationals Inquisition and everyone else that former Nationals manager Jim Riggleman will actually be managing again. Yes, that is right. A baseball team. Though not official just yet, Riggleman is expected to take the reigns of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos– the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
Poor Wahoos. You gotta feel for them. Every game they will be living in constant fear that at anytime something, anything could trigger that primordial response for Riggleman to just up and ditch the team. Who knows what it could be. It could be something as simple as not putting the right mix of gatorade and water into the cooler or just simply turning on the clubhouse lights. Hey, he did it once, he can do it again. It is forever ingrained in the fabric of his career.
Not much more I can even say about this except the hopes that Riggleman is using this rise then fall then rise again and then faceplant as a learning experience or as a life experience. I don’t know much about those sort of things because I am bad at improving the quality of my own life, but I know a man who has the right words for Riggleman: Sir Elton John.
